Experiment: Everyday Life - https://youtu.be/MDb_2N-KUfo
Everyday Life personifies two parts of a computer that we often use when we use a computer-- a keyboard and a trackpad. The piece is snapshot of their typical everyday conversation while they are working, which is when someone is using the computer. It starts off with “tic tic tak” onomatopeias that imitate the keyboard typing sounds. The trackpad is then used, represented by “click” and “scroll.” Overall, Everyday Life touches upon what it is like for a keyboard and trackpad when a user types an essay, browses on the internet, and puts the computer to sleep and the different shortcuts and functions of the keyboard and trackpad.
The internet poetry piece by @cooniek on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/BmcrF6RFxcI/?taken-by=internet_poetry) is similar to older internet posts on Tumblr where people choose an ambient landscape background with an inspirational quote or message. In this case, it is like a poem about a girl’s beauty. Now, new recent internet posts are dominated by memes, which grow further from conversational and literary grammar. Like in the doge and LOLcat memes, the fonts and grammar in particular are used to express a certain mood a person feels. YHCHI also often utilizes a certain font that give off a certain vibe. Both YHCHI pieces and LOLcat feel like they are screaming or speaking in a loud monotone voice.
